The opening round of this season’s Italian and European Challenge Trofeo Pirelli took place this weekend at the Monza National Circuit, with the debut of the new 458 Challenge. The car’s maiden outing was watched by special guests in the shape of Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa and Enrico Galleria, Ferrari Commercial and Marketing Director, who were in Monza for this special debut. Qualifying for the sixth round of the European series of the Ferrari Challenge took place today at France’s Paul Ricard HTTT circuit at Le Castellet, in preparation for Sunday’s races. This is the final round for the F430 Challenge cars in the European branch of the one-make series, prior to the World Finals in Valencia. The final day of the Ferrari Racing Days in Budapest featured two rounds of racing in the European and Italian series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli. In addition there were free practice sessions for the four Ferrari FXX cars, the fourteen 599XX and the fifteen historic single-seaters run by the F1 Clienti Department of Maranello. One of the highlights of the event was the appearance of Scuderia Ferrari’s driver, Felipe Massa, who drove a few laps of the track at the wheel of a Ferrari California and then thrilled the large crowds in the grandstands with a demonstration run in an F60, the car with which Scuderia Ferrari contested the 2009 season.
